Description

This starter pulley is intended for use in various outdoor machines and tools. It is part of the overall recoil starter assembly. With the help of the starter spring, the pulley is responsible for pulling the starter rope back after the engine is started. The starter rope is wound around the pulley. When the rope is pulled, the pulley spins and unwinds the recoil spring, starting the combustion process. If the pulley fails due to normal wear and tear or damage, it is less expensive to replace than replacing the entire system. Gloves and a screwdriver are required to replace the pulley. Remove the rope handle and rope before removing the pulley. Note that the spring coil will need to be removed as well. Carefully remove it while holding tight to prevent it from uncoiling. Install the new pulley, rewind the spring coil into place if it came uncoiled, and reinstall the rope and handle. Replace the cover.
