Description

A fuel line or fuel pipe grommet is placed between the fuel line and the tank. Its primary purpose is to seal the two components together, preventing unwanted leaks. This durable fuel pipe grommet is made from a thick rubber material. However, it may eventually experience cracks and tears, which are signs that the grommet should immediately be replaced. One of the most noticeable symptoms is that there is an unexplained fuel leak on the tank. Replacing a fuel pipe return grommet is fast and easy. Start by letting the engine cool down and draining the fuel tank. Otherwise, fuel leak can occur since the tank is slightly pressurized. Then, open the air cleaner cover and remove the air filter. Get a sturdy wire and curve one of its ends like a hook. Insert the hook and take the fuel line out from the tank. Grab the fuel line and remove its fuel filter. Make sure to remove the clip. Then remove the fuel lines that go through the grommet. Take a small screwdriver to pull the grommet out of the tank. Insert the replacement into the tank and reassemble the other parts to their original positions. Hitachi makes this fuel pipe grommet. It is compatible with Tanaka and Hitachi grass trimmers.
