Description

This genuine OEM muffler gasket is sourced directly from the manufacturer for use in weed eaters and chainsaws to diminish the noise level. The muffler gasket seals the space where the engine and muffler connect to prevent air and noise from getting in or out. If the gasket is damaged or missing, hot air from the engine would escape and melt the housing cover. The noise level can be affected as well. During routine maintenance, the muffler housing should be removed to examine and replace the gasket. The cost is negligible so this gasket should be routinely replaced; don't wait for damage to the housing. A wrench or socket set and a screwdriver are needed for the replacement. The engine and muffler must be cool to touch before repairing. Remove the screws holding the housing cover and set the lid aside. Use the ratchet to remove the screws from the muffler. Remove and replace the gasket on the backside of the muffler. Reassemble the muffler unit using the ratchet to secure the screws. Reinstall the housing cover. The muffler gasket is sold as an individual unit. It is designed for use in weedeaters and chainsaws manufactured by Craftsman, Husqvarna, Poulan, and Poulan Pro.
