Description

This mandrel is an authentic OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer for use on riding lawnmowers. The mandrel attaches to the deck and spins the blades to cut the grass during operation. Age and normal wear and tear may cause the mandrel to become damaged or the bearings inside to become worn. The blades may not spin correctly, causing an uneven pattern on the lawn. If the mandrel completely fails, the lawnmower blades won't spin at all, rendering the mower useless for cutting grass. If this happens, the mandrel should be replaced. Wear safety glasses when replacing the mandrel. A wrench, pliers, Torque wrench, and wooden block are needed to make this repair. Disconnect the spark plug for safety. Remove the mower deck from the main body. Place the wooden block between the blade and the mower to stop the blade from moving. Remove the pulley, then remove the mandrel nut and take the mandrel off the deck. Install the new mandrel and reverse the process to put the lawnmower back together. This mandrel is sold as an individual part. It is designed for use in lawnmowers manufactured by Husqvarna and Craftsman.
