Description

This authentic OEM starter pulley is part of the recoil starter on blowers and other outdoor lawn and garden equipment. The starter pulley is located below the starter cover. The recoil spring is connected to the starter pulley in the center. The starter rope is pulled off the pulley by the operator, stretching the recoil spring out and starting the engine. The recoil spring whips back in and pulls the starter rope back onto the pulley. If the pulley is damaged due to age or breaks, it will need to be replaced in order to operate the engine.Remove the engine cover to access the starter pulley. Remove the starter pull rope and carefully remove the recoil spring, holding it in the center and outer edge to keep it coiled. Tie the coil together to prevent having to recoil it later for reinstallation. Remove the screw holding the starter pulley in place and pull the pulley out. Install the new pulley. Reinstall the recoil and spring. Reinstall the pull rope and cover. The starter pulley is a plastic part sold individually. It is sourced directly from the manufacturer and compatible with blowers manufactured by Husqvarna and Craftsman.
