Description

The thrust screw is made of durable metal and will sit in between a stationary part and a rotating surface within many types of chainsaws. The purpose of the thrust washer is to support the load or motion on a shaft while preventing motion on the shaft. The thrust washer is used to create a surface that supports a bearing where there are moving parts. If the thrust washer becomes damaged or worn, it cannot support the bearings and it may also become damaged. When this occurs, it may cause a rattling or squealing noises. When removing the thrust washer for a replacement, the reel and line assembly needs to be removed. A small screwdriver of a pick can be used to disengage the C-clip so the user can remove the plunger, spring, and thrust washer.
