The Whirlpool light bulb is an OEM replacement part responsible for providing illumination within the appliance, typically found in the interior of a refrigerator or oven. This incandescent bulb features a small screw-in base and clear glass. It operates at 120 volts and has a power rating of 25 watts. Its primary function is to emit light when the appliance's door or lid is opened, allowing users to see and access the contents inside.
Causes of a bad light bulb can include regular wear and tear from frequent use, electrical surges, or damage from handling. Over time, light bulbs naturally burn out and require replacement to maintain adequate lighting inside the refrigerator.
Symptoms of a bad light bulb include:

- Flickering or dim lighting
- A completely non-functional light bulb
This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.
