Daniel C Naperville , IL November 25, 2015 Appliance: Kenmore Refrigerator 79579976900 Freezer and refrigerator not cool enough the back and bottom of the freezer were iced over After some research I choose to replace the Controller Assembly. This resides in the freezer and is attached to the evaporator. First I had to take out the ice maker (easy 3 screws) next I had to remove the back panel on the freezer. This was not too difficult, there is a small panel in the back with a single screw holding it in place. Once that was removed I was able to pry the back panel off. There was one electrical connection that I had to take off that was attached to the fan. The back panel came out and I was able to see there the old Controller Assembly was. It was easy to replace. The difficult part was removing all of the ice that was build up. Make sure that the opening between the fridge and freezer is clear. I had to go back in through the top of the fridge to clear it out. So far it all seems to be working.
