Bruce B Corpus Christi , TX March 12, 2019 Appliance: Model LSC27926SB (AWBCLGA) Flap on ice dispenser was loose I was buying a part for my other refrigerator and decided to replace the ice tray on my LG, as it was not emptying properly. When I found the part, I also saw a video attached to the ice dispenser parts. I had taped over the ice dispenser years ago and would just open the freezer for ice. Watched the video and they sure made it look easy to replace that flap, so I decided to give it a shot. I replaced the ice tray as soon as the parts came in, but did not have the time to tear off the front panel that day. Decided the time was now available and sat down in front of the fridge and started feeling for the openings mentioned in the video, mine did not have those. Instead of a screwdriver, as is shown in the video, I used a plastic putty knife to slide under the panel to click loose the tabs. I knew I would scratch the fridge if I went at it with a screwdriver. Once I removed the panel everything was just as it was in the video. (note: I did not even have to watch the video twice, it was very clear and understandable the first time.) I took it apart as described, including the warning given about the spring (which I also ordered a replacement, just in case). Everything, except the ice funnel, worked as perfect as the expert in the video and I was pleasantly surprised with how quickly the job was completed. I thank you, and curse you, for providing the video showing how easy this job, that I had put off for years, was to complete. Thanks again, Bruce. David L Raleigh , NC August 14, 2022 Appliance: LG Refrigerator LSC26905TT Leaking/split 5/16" water line between inlet valve & water filter. Repair is very simple, the challenge is getting enough elbow room to do it. Pay attention to the sequence of removing/re-installing retainer clips shown in the video. I also replaced 1/4" line from the Inlet Valve to the water filter too, as well as the supply line from the wall into the Inlet Valve while I was doing it, since all are about 10-12 years old. If I did this repair again tomorrow, it would take 20 minutes. Only problem - my wife is disappointed, she wanted a new refridgerator. I told he to be happy this fridge is so "new, I've kept the clothes dryer alive from over 40 years...... Read More...
