Alex J Timonium , MD January 18, 2016 Hinge cable assembly (a short piece of nylon cord) wore away and the cord broke It was really an easy repair once you get the dishwasher disconnected from drain/water supply/electrical and the out of cabinet. This part took 30-45 minutes due to tight fit and difficulty accessing water supply. Once dishwasher out of cabinet, removal of 5 screws per side, lifted off side panels, and access was simple. Took about 30 seconds to replace Hinge Cable. I ordered two and once the broken side finished, replace other side as well. It was showing significant wear and probably would have broken in 6 months or so. Once finished, replacing dishewaher and reconnecting took about 30 minutes. When reinstalled, took door apart to replace broken Deco Handle. Again simple just keep track of screws. There are three different sizes . Biggest problem is the extremely cheap parts LG puts into their $1000 dishwasher. Doug H Lawndale , CA February 02, 2016 Appliance: LG Dishwasher LDF6810ST Broken door handle brackets Remove outer door panel. Careful to remember different screws and lengths. Have a buddy (Wife) help hold door panel during removal. Place door panel on cardboard or beach towel ( no marks). Expose inside bracket screws - remove and replace old brackets. Hint use 'lock tight' thread adhesive on bracket screw threads to prevent loosening. W/ buddy reassemble and you're done. Kind of a no brainer . Read More...
