Chuck P Carnation , WA February 23, 2017 Appliance: Model DLEX3570V Lg dlex3570v dryer steam failure Dryer worked fine on all cycles except the Steam sanitize or Steam refresh cycles. Filling the water reservoir and bypassing the door interlock I could see a steam of water pouring out the steam vent. This was not a dribble. It was like a miniature garden hose and this kept up until the water reservoir was emptied. So, in my mind I decided this was either a sensing or control problem with the steam circuits. The steam generator seemed most likely as they appear to be sensitive to water types, they were OOS and I did not feel any heat in the water coming out the steam vent. Back-Ordered a 3111ER1002E and received in about a month. Replacement was very easy. Pull the three LOWER screws out of the back of the top. NOTE: there are three screws on the back top edge, leave those in. you need to look under the back top edge and remove the lower three screws. top just slides back. Steam Generator is right there on top with a simple R&R you can get it out. Watch out for the red wire / black mate'n'lock connector. The release is very weak, I broke mine. No big deal. I just used a good tape to resecure it but mine broke very easy. If I ever do this again, I would have a better mate'n'lock connector ready to replace the fragile one. You will need to completely fill the reservoir WITH TAP WATER. Maybe twice as you test your fix. Mine took a fairly long time to create steam at first, probably cause I didn't know to have the water topped off after the first drain of the reservoir by the Steam Generator's first start up. I put more water in, and watched, STEAM, ahhh. all done. You will need: Medium Phillips Screw Driver Standard Pliers - smaller size for the hose clips. Standard size Flate Blade - helps to ease of the heating element connectors. Mine were stuck on pretty tight. enjoy.
