Miguel L North Hills , CA February 27, 2017 Appliance: Model LFD2260ST Broken hinge on freezer door for lg lfd2260st I was not able to find a tutorial for this repair so I decide to put in the steps. 1.Remove freezer door. Process is shown in a tutorial off this site or many others off the net. 2. Once the door is removed you will have access to 8 screws holding 2 hinges from the pantry rail to the freezer door. 3. I found it easier to make the repair by removing both hinges from the freezer door to just work with the rail and the hinges. 4. This way you have access to the front part of the rail that the hinge is connected as well. 5. There is a small plastic clip on top of the new hinge with a single screw. You will want to remove this while positioning the hinge in place. 6. You'll notice that there is a latch that connects the 2 hooks for the hinge. Do not undo the latch yet. 7. You will need to position the hinge first, Once in place (hooks must be in proper place on the front of the rail)you'll need to pull the hinge apart slightly to release the latch. This is needed to hook the hinge in place. If you undo the latch or happen not to have the hinge in position it will not hook in. 8. You will need to screw the rail back in place before you can do the final adjustment on the repaired hinge. This is done by opening the hinge slightly to put it in place. 9. You can now screw in the 8 screws attaching the door to the rail. 10. Put freezer door back in by reversing step 1.
