John S Burlington , NJ August 04, 2014 Broken ice maker Very easy repair...One screw and one plug is all it takes to swap out the unit. Took about 3 minutes and it started making ice shortly thereafter. The ice maker was an exact replacement of the original. Hopefully, this one will last! Dale M Mesa , AZ August 10, 2014 Appliance: Model LG MODEL LSC27914SW Ice maker failure Called a local highly reputable appliance service company. Service tech replaced the ice maker and charged me over $400.00. The first ice maker ice cube tray was not level so water spilled out and onto the wall of the freezer down onto food. The service tech replaced the first one with another unit. It, too, had the same problem. You could see the ice cube tray was not level! The left end of the tray was lower then the right end. The drive motor is located on the right end of the tray and the water fill tube is on the left end. As the ice cube tray was filling, water spilled out onto the wall of the freezer. The service company agreed to refund my money for the ice maker. They charged me $250.00 for the ice maker, which was the amount of the refund. I contacted Appliance Parts Pros, gave them all the info about my refrigerator. They recommended a particular part, which I ordered. The cost, including shipping, was less then $100.00!! I have installed the new iced maker and it's working just great. Thank you Appliance Parts Pros. Your assistance in this matter was great and especially appreciated the savings realized from buying the RIGHT part from this company.
