Mark H Paola , KS August 25, 2025 Appliance: Model LG LDT 9965 BD Error code ae = leaking water Unplug the dishwasher -FIRST! remove the stainless steel liner on door with about 8 metal screws. (make sure you recall where each screw came from- label if necessary) remove latch after unplugging the 2 wiring connectors. Install new latch after connecting to the wire couplers. reinstall the 8 screws. be careful not to over tighten the screws < esp the ones that go into the latch itself or where they dont thread into metal. ( advise using hand instead of electric screwdrivers unless you set the clutch very loose. You have to remove any water in the float bowl under the dishwasher on the right sade (facing unit) . it wont clear the error code until the water is gone. We used paper towels and a screwdriver to push the towel into the grooves in the basin, until it was dry. ( about 4-5 regular paper towels ) . you will need a strong flashlight to see this as well.
