My dryer door would not stay closed even after replacing the puny hook and latch assembly that was the standard part that Sears provided. Replaced with the upgraded hook and latch assembly with the solid hook that is held in place by a screw. Much sturdier than the OEM clip-in hook. I had to partially remove the front door panel to get to the screw that holds the hook in place. I used a putty knife to pry the outer panel up from the door. The door now has a solid closure and is actually much better than when new.
