Daniel C Lakeside , CA April 09, 2017 Appliance: LG Washing Machine WM2240CW Would not power on Troubleshooting process: Verify 120V to machine, verify 120V output from noise filter, verify 120V into main power board (PCB). Main power board LED not on. This says board is bad. To remove board remove a couple of the closest wiring harness tie downs, this will allow you to remove the connectors from the board a little more easily. TAKE PICTURES BEFORE to insure all goes back together the same. Though the connectors cannot be plugged into the wrong spots as they are all different, pictures just give you a little peace of mind. A single screw on the back of machine holds board in place, remove screw and board assembly will slide out. Make sure the wiring harnesses are re-secured properly so wiring does not get damaged when machine is in use. I am a State Certified Journeyman wireman with years of process control experience. IF YOU ARE NOT A HIGHLY COMPETENT HANDYMAN or better with some electrical experience do not attempt this repair by yourself. Testing live voltages should only be performed by competent/qualified persons. Using the washing machine now I have noticed that it performs better. Better spin cycle and clothes come out dryer. Possibly the old board's processor was slowly failing and over time I just didn't notice the degradation. The new board was made slightly different as the arrangement of a couple of the components were changed. The alert buzzer is also a slightly different tone-brighter, louder.Whatever the reason for this and apparent performance enhancements this new board was a great purchase. I paid for 2 day shipping and it still cost me $60 less than Sears parts or my local Appliance parts store-who both quoted me 12-14 days ship time. Appliance Parts Pros phone service was great as well. The part number had changed and they helped me verify I was getting the right board. Thanks Appliance parts Pros!
