Description

This refrigerator water inlet valve assembly controls the flow of household water into the appliance. Replacing a faulty valve restores proper water delivery to the ice maker and/or dispenser and can stop leaks or continuous filling issues. What it does:

• Opens and closes to direct incoming water to the ice maker and/or dispenser as commanded
• Regulates fill so ice trays and dispenser receive the correct amount of water
• Resolves no water from dispenser, no ice or small/thin cubes
• Addresses slow fill/low flow, dripping from the back of the fridge, or continuous water flow
• A failing valve may buzz or click without dispensing water

Install notes:

• Unplug the refrigerator and turn off the household water supply before starting
• Place a towel or tray to catch residual water; relieve line pressure by dispensing until flow stops
• Note tubing and wire positions; transfer any mounting hardware from the old valve if needed
• After installation, restore water and power, check all connections for leaks, and flush the water system to purge air
