Lg 3911EZ9131X Venting Kit OEM Part

This was a pretty simple install if you know how to take apart your dryer. I have a kenmore dryer which is identical to an LG dryer. My kenmore dryer was actually made by LG at that time. You can find the specific model on youtube and see how your dryer comes apart. While doing this i cleaned all the inner parts of my dryer. The parts that come in the kit can be bought at home depot for much less but you don't know what length you need. I ordered the kit so I could have the back plate and Kenmore parts so it would not void warranty. If you use parts from a hardware store the manufacturer may void warranty. install was simple once I saw the youtube video.

LG has several instructional videos on Youtube which are very easy to follow. The knockout plate was not so easy to knock out. The piece on my dryer was spot-welded about 8 places around the circle so it took some effort to remove it. Make sure the side vent extends 1.75" out from the side of the dryer. I left less extending on mine since I have very tight clearance, which made the pipe susceptible to sliding inside the dryer and making it difficult to slide the next section of ductwork onto it.

Bought this for LG DLE1501W. Although this model was listed as not compatible (although the part number listed in the LG manual-383EEL9001B- was cross referenced to this part), it worked fine. Based upon several videos online describing how to install venting kit, I decided to download the service manual and take the dryer apart (remove top cover, control panel, front cover with door, and removed the drum. The repair video here was useful, but didn't quite correspond to my model, so the manual helped. Once this is done, install is easy. I used foil tape for the connections (I've seen duct tape not last). The parts all fit as expected; the only small glitch was the cover that was included with the kit that fits on the old rear vent hole had two screw holes, neither of which fit the dryer hole. So I just drilled a hole that corresponded to the hole in the dryer.

Redirected duct work to shorten the distance from the dryer to outside. First, added side vent on the dryer, then drilled a hole in the floor and ran the duct work under the house to the outside. This was not a "do it yourself" project for me although you could do the job yourself if you're a handyman type. I hired a handyman to run the ductwork under the house and an appliance repairman to install the side vent kit. The dryer is now drying properly. My dryer is a new model and I was having difficulty finding the correct side vent kit. The sales person at Appliance Parts was very helpful matching the manufacturers part numbers and fortunately had the kit in stock. Because the work was scheduled to be done in four days, they shipped the kit immediately and arrived one day before the project was scheduled. Thanks guys!
