This broil element is the oven's upper heating element that provides direct, high-heat cooking for broiling and browning. It restores the oven's broil function so foods brown evenly and cook from above. What it does:

  • Heats the top of the oven cavity to produce direct radiant heat for broiling and browning
  • Replaces a damaged, burned out, or non-heating upper oven element
  • Commonly used when broil cycles fail or food doesn't brown on top
  • Works with ovens that use a straight tubular broil element design

  • Disconnect power to the range at the breaker or unplug before starting
  • Element mounts with two screws accessible from inside the oven; handle glass and trim carefully
