Description

This is an inner rear baffle OEM part that is sourced directly from the manufacturer for use on lawn mowers and lawn tractors. It directs the flow of grass clippings from underneath the mower to the chute and out of the mower. This is a part that can be damaged by rocks and other debris that the mower runs over. Over time, the elements can cause the part to deteriorate and possibly fall off. If this occurs, the baffle should be replaced. If the baffle is missing or damaged, the grass clipping may not be discharged and will build up underneath the mower. This can cause the blades to become clogged and not turn properly, which can cause an uneven cut. Grass clippings that are not distributed through the discharge chute evenly and wind up in clumps on the lawn are not only unsightly but can also cause fungus to grow underneath and smother the grass. The lawn tractor should not be used until the baffle is replaced with a new one. This is a black metal part that is sold individually. It does not come with screws. This baffle is designed for use on lawn mowers and tractors manufactured by MTD, Troy Bilt, and Craftsman.
