Description

This carriage bolt is a self-locking fastener made for use in round or square holes to attach metal to metal in outdoor equipment. These bolts provide an added safety feature because they can only be removed from one side. Carriage bolts can carry a large amount of weight, which makes them ideal for use in outdoor yard equipment. Carriage bolts may be used to attach a lawn mower's arm to the side support and other similar applications. If the bolt needs to be replaced, removal and installation are simple. Use a wrench to loosen the nut holding the washer and bolt in place. Once the nut is loose, the bolt can be unthreaded by hand and pulled out of the hole. To install, push the bolt back through the hole. If the fit is too tight to install by hand, use a hammer to tap it in place.
