Description

This replacement part is a clutch cable for lawnmowers. The clutch cable is the cord that allows the mower to switch the gear settings of the engine. If the mower is no longer switching gears properly or is not cutting as efficiently, the clutch cable might need to be replaced. Luckily, this is a relatively simple process.To replace the clutch cable, turn the ignition switch off. Lift the mower hood and disconnect the spark plug wire. Pull off the clutch lever handle and remove the air duct mounting screws and pull off the air duct. After that, remove the fuel tank out of the way. Remove the clutch lever assembly mounting screws. Pull the lever through the dash opening to release the clutch lever assembly from the dash. After that, access the cable connection. Once accessed, release the tension spring from the pin. Remove the washer and release the cable from the pin. Release the cable retainer locking tabs and remove the cable from the support bracket. Then replace it with the new clutch cable.This genuine OEM part is sold individually and is compatible with MTD brand lawnmowers.
