This auger cable is a genuine MTD part. It is designed to be a replacement part for use on snowblowers. On a snowblower, the auger cable, sometimes called the auger drive cable, is part of the machine's auger drive system. It connects the engagement lever and control lever. It is fairly common for auger cables to become worn, damaged, or broken over time and need to be replaced. Replacing the auger cable is a relatively simple repair. Remove the belt cover, disconnect the cable from the cable guide pulley, release the cable from the bracket, disconnect the cable completely, and then install the new auger cable.
