Description

This genuine OEM replacement chain case assembly is for a rotary tiller. The chain case assembly or transmission assembly is located between the two tines. The assembly houses the chain and gears which enable the tines to rotate. Over the course of time, and with frequent use, the chains and/or gears that make up the chain case assembly may fail and require the chain case assembly to be replaced. Replacing the chain case assembly is an intermediate job that will require 60 minutes or more. The tools needed are a Phillips head screwdriver, needle nose pliers, and a socket wrench to complete this job. It is highly recommended to follow the necessary safety precautions before proceeding with this replacement. The user is encouraged to wear work gloves to protect the hands when installing this part as the tines which can be very sharp will need to be removed. Before starting disassembly of the tiller, ensure the engine has cooled and the tiller is turned off. It is also highly recommended to drain any oil and fuel from the tiller to prevent spillage.
