A starter housing assembly is a plastic unit that attaches to the top of the engine to protect the starter. It is also where the starter rope is attached and it covers the flywheel that is responsible for engaging the motor.
Debris can hit the cover and cause damage, or it could simply become damaged or worn over time. If this happens, you will want to replace it as soon as possible in order to ensure the safe operation of your equipment.
