Description

This connecting rod connects the crankshaft to the piston in lawn and garden equipment. It is used to transfer combustion pressure over to the crankpin. It has bearing portions on each end and has to handle high forces while the piston moves inside of the cylinder bore. It's made to be light so it can deal with compression, tension, and heavy loads while in use. In some cases, the connecting rod will buckle or become damaged and need to be replaced.Replacing the connecting rod requires taking the engine out of its frame. The pulley and sump should be removed before going forward. Take off the head so the piston can be removed to gain access to the old rod and install the new one.
