Description

This is a replacement part for riding and push lawn mowers. This 21-inch deck assembly, made up of a durable metal, is the part of the lawn mower that covers the blades. It is designed to protect the user, as well as the engine, from the blades and debris that may be shot off from the blades. The deck may become compromised by rust if the lawn mower is not properly cared for. If the deck is loosened or becomes damaged it should be immediately replaced to avoid further damage to the lawn mower itself and personal injury to the operator. Before beginning this repair, ensure the fuel from the gas tank and the oil from the engine. On a push mower, begin by removing the pull rope from the handle and the control cable from the engine. Next remove the rear portion of the mower from the deck, including the rear housing, wheels, and the handle. Tip the deck onto its side, safely remove the blade and loosen the bolts connecting the engine. Place the deck flat again and remove bolts to disconnect the engine. Lastly, disconnect the side discharge door. Remove the new deck from the packaging and discard damaged the damaged one. Reattach all parts, beginning with the side discharge door.
