Description

This drive cable is found on lawnmowers to connect the handle drive lever to the transmission. The cable tells the transmission to move the mower to cut the grass when the handle is pulled up. When the handle is let go, the transmission stops, and so does the mower. If the lawnmower does not move forward when the handle is pulled up, the drive cable should be checked to ensure it is still connected. Vibrations from the lawnmower could cause it to come loose. If the cable is damaged or missing, it should be replaced so that the handle drive lever will work correctly.Before replacing the drive cable, remove the spark plug from the lawn mower. Wear safety gloves and eye protection. Release the drive cable from the drive control lever. Remove the drive cover from the lawnmower and remove the drive cable. Connect the new drive cable to the transmission and reinstall the drive cover. Install the new drive cable on the mower handle. Install the spark plug and test the drive cable.This drive cable is a black part that is sold individually. It is designed for use on lawnmowers manufactured by Craftsman and Cub Cadet.
