Description

This e-ring clip is a fastener made of semi-flexible metal in a ring shape with open ends so it can easily be snapped into place. These items are sized in a way to offer an interference fit into or onto a land or groove when in use. Installing or removing an e-ring clip requires them to be elastically deformed. These clips can become worn from use or damaged due to heavy loads or the presence of corrosive substances.If an e-ring clip is malfunctioning, it should be replaced. This can be done with an e-clip remover, a pair of pliers, or a flathead screwdriver. E-rings are designed to snap into a groove cut into a round shaft. To install a new clip, place the open ends against the shaft and apply pressure. This is best done using needle nose pliers rather than fingers.
