Description

This genuine OEM engine shroud is sourced directly from the manufacturer for use on lawnmowers, snowblowers, and other lawn and garden equipment. This shroud is the outermost covering of the engine. It works in conjunction with the cooling fins to direct heat away from the engine. During operation, the cooling fans pull air in and circulate it around the engine to keep it cool. If the shroud is broken, the engine may overheat. Engine shrouds also protect the cooling fins from dirt and debris. The shroud is made of durable plastic that is designed to withstand normal wear and tear. However, if it is left in the sun for long periods of time, the plastic may crack. The shroud may also be damaged from routine lawn work as sticks and rocks are encountered. The shroud should be removed semi-annually to clean dirt and debris from underneath. This accumulated debris may clog the cooling fins and lead to overheating.The engine shroud is sold as a single unit; it does not include screws for attaching to the lawnmower. The shroud is designed to work on lawnmower engines, log splitter engines, snowblowers, tillers, and more.
