Description

The fuel tank gasket is made to provide an airtight seal when mounting the gas tank on a variety of different engines. The high-quality gasket is made from composite material and is made to last. Over time, though, the gaskets will dry out and become brittle. When this happens, it will create leaks, which could allow air to get into the fuel tank and cause engine problems. Proper maintenance will include checking the gaskets to ensure they are in good shape. If they appear brittle, be sure to replace them as soon as possible. To remove the screw that secures the fuel tank, you will need to use a Torx screwdriver. When replacing the gasket for the fuel tank, make sure it is seated properly before finishing the reassembly.
