Description
This is a genuine OEM chute gearbox sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is designed for use on many different walk-behind snowblowers and two-stage snow throwers. The chute control motor activates the gearbox, which controls the chute's rotation to guide the direction that the snow goes as it is discharged. If the chute does not rotate when activated, the gearbox should be checked after checking for objects stuck in the chute. If there is nothing impeding rotation, the chute gearbox should be removed and replaced. Normal wear and tear can cause damage to the gears and prevent them from controlling the directional movement of the chute. The chute gearbox requires a wrench set, Phillips screwdriver, and needle-nose pliers. Wear work gloves to remove and replace the gearbox only after the snowblower has cooled down. After installing the gearbox and reinstalling the remaining parts, start the machine and make sure the discharge chute moves in all directions. This repair can be made in approximately fifteen minutes. This chute gearbox has a heavy-duty plastic housing; it is sold as one complete pre-assembled unit. The chute gearbox is compatible with snowblowers and snow throwers manufactured by Troy-Bilt, MTD, Yard Machines, Yard-Man, and Cub Cadet.
