Description

This blade guard assembly is an OEM replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer for use on trimmers to protect the user from the trimmer line as it spins. The blade guard is a plastic part that rocks and flying debris can damage. It can also be damaged by the elements, such as intense summer heat that causes it to crack. If the blade guard is damaged or missing, the trimmer should not be used until it is replaced. Before removing the blade guard and installing a new one, make sure the spark plug is out of the trimmer to prevent accidental powering. Remove the screws from the old blade guard and set them aside. Line the screw holes up on the new blade guard with the screw holes on the trimmer. Insert the screws from the old trimmer and tighten. Reinstall the spark plug. Test the blade guard to make sure it works. This blade guard is a black, molded plastic part that is sold individually. This blade guard is designed for use on trimmers manufactured by Craftsman and MTD.
