Description

This is an ignition coil assembly that makes up a major component in several log splitters and snowblowers. The ignition coil assembly is located near the flywheel. It is used to create an electrical charge when the magnet at the edge of the flywheel comes near the coil. The charge is sent on to the spark plug which will ignite a mixture of fuel and air inside the cylinder. Symptoms of a bad ignition coil include an engine that does not start or which turns off at random.If the ignition coil assembly is broken or damaged, it will need to be replaced. A broken ignition coil may not allow the spark plug to create a spark so the engine will not turn on. Remove the ignition coil assembly using a screwdriver and wrench. The fuel tank and other parts will also need to be removed.
