Description

This genuine OEM muffler assembly is sourced directly from the manufacturer for use in small engines on outdoor lawn and garden equipment. Mufflers are not required for a machine to run, but the noise produced when a machine has no muffler can be damaging to hearing. Also, in some areas, there are noise ordinances that make mufflers necessary when working outside. Mufflers also provide a level of safety by blocking sparking and backfiring to prevent fires. Grass, leaves, and other yard debris can be dry and very quickly become a fire hazard if ignited by sparks. During operation, the noise level of the machine is a good indicator of muffler damage. Normal wear and tear can cause the muffler to become clogged. Running over sticks and rocks can lead to cracks and bends that cause it not to work properly. Replacement is easy and takes very little time. Use a screwdriver to remove the engine cover. Next, remove the bolts attaching the muffler to the machine. Remove and discard the old unit. Wipe the machine to remove dirt and debris before installing the new muffler. Install the new muffler and reinstall the engine cover.The muffler assembly is sold as an individual unit.
