Description

The Hex Jam Nut is a genuine 4 oz. jam nut. This part is half the height of most standardized hex nuts. Typically used as a locknut, hex jam nuts are used for two general purposes. The first application is that a jam nut can be used in conjunction with a bolt to be tightened against a standard nut. By using the hex nut and the bolt together, the standard nut will lock in place and will not back off. The second application is that jam nuts are used in tight uneven places as a means to level. Further, jam nuts can be used in situations where sufficient space is lacking for a standard nut.The Hex Jam Nut is sold individually. If a hex jam nut is lost through general use, it can be replaced simply with the same OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer.
