Description

This shave plate is a genuine OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer for use on snowblowers. The shave plate collects the snow and pulls it into the auger, where paddles then throw the snow away from the path being cleared. If the shave plate is damaged due to normal wear and tear, the snow plate will leave behind snow. Snow plate inspection should be part of the first inspection of the season. Make sure the snowblower is cool, and jack it up on a ramp to get underneath for easier access to the shave plate. Remove the spark plug and key from the snowblower. Wear safety gloves and safety goggles when working on the machine. Locate the shave plate underneath the blower. Loosen the bolts and take the shave plate off. Install the new shave plate and install the bolts from the original shave plate. Reinstall the spark plug and test the machine. If the plate needs to be lowered, repeat the process but don't remove the plate, just lower it slightly.This shave plate is a black metal part that is sold individually. It does not come attaching hardware. It is designed for use in snowblowers manufactured by Yard Machines, MTD, Troy-Bilt, Husky, Yard-Man, and MTD.
