Description

This authentic OEM replacement part is a steering shaft intended to be used on lawn tractors. A steering shaft connects the steering wheel to the rest of the steering mechanism. As a user rotates the steering wheel, the steering shaft also rotates to move the pinion along the steering rack. The more the steering shaft rotates, the more the pinion travels along the rack, and the more the wheels turn in the direction of the steering wheel. Steering shafts most commonly have to be replaced if the steering mechanism becomes worn out or stripped. When this happens, steering will be more difficult and cause strange clunking sounds.
