Description

This silencer plate is used on a variety of outdoor lawn and garden machines to reduce the noise from the air intake. This molded plastic part sits on top of the carburetor and houses the air filter. It provides an added layer of noise muffling. Exposure to wind, rain, and heat can cause the plastic to become brittle and cracked. The silence plate should be replaced if damage is discovered during routine maintenance. A screwdriver is needed to replace the silence plate. Before working on the machine, make sure the engine is cool and remove the spark plug. Remove the air filter cover and the air filter to access the silencer plate. Remove the screws holding the plate in place. Install the new silencer plate. Tighten the screws. Install the air filter and housing cover.
