Description

This replacement extension spring is a genuine OEM part for a snowblower. Extension springs are used to hold parts in place, usually mounting them to the outer housing frame. This extension spring links the housing frame to the drive plate assembly. By using a spring, the assembly can sit separately from the frame but still be supported while the snowblower is in operation. This prevents the part from shifting about inside the appliance. When springs are held in position for an extended amount of time, they will slowly begin to lose some of their tension. Should this happen, the drive plate assembly will no longer be held as securely to the housing frame. It could begin to shift about and slip out of alignment. To replace a worn-out extension spring, use a socket wrench to open the back housing and remove the old spring using a pair of pliers. Carefully attach the new part and reassemble the housing.
