Description

This genuine OEM part is an electric starter for lawnmowers. The electric starter is the part of the ignition that allows the mower to start once the key is turned or the recoil cable is pulled. It sends the signal to the fuel line to create combustion to power the engine. If the mower is no longer starting, it might be time to replace the electric starter. Luckily, replacing this part is a relatively simple process. To replace the electric starter start by removing the engine cover. Then remove the air filter cover and the air filter. Remove the fuel line from the carburetor. Remove the hose clamp, and pull the fuel line away. After this, remove the fuel tank by unthreading the mounting bolts. Once removed, disconnect the wires between the starter and the rest of the wire harness. Remove the bolts that attach to the electric starter assembly. Once removed replace with the new electric starter by bolting the starter back in its original position. This replacement part is sold individually and is compatible with MTD brand lawnmowers.
