Description

This is a genuine OEM replacement tether sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is used on many different fuel tanks on lawn and garden equipment. The tether attaches to the fuel cap and is part of the fuel cap originally. The fuel cap is vented to prevent heat from causing fuel tank expansion and possible explosion. The tether is designed to help hold the fuel cap in place during use. Everyday use may cause the tether to fall off. Without the tether, vibration from use or running into brush and trees can cause the fuel cap to come off. The cap is red to help it stand out on the engine. It has the image of a gas pump to show that it is where the fuel goes.If the tether breaks off and falls into the gas tank, use needle-nose pliers to fish it out. If that does not work, remove the fuel tank and empty the contents into a dish. The tether will fall out. The new gas cap and tether can be screwed in without tools.This tether is a plastic part that is individually sold.
