Description
This is a valve cover gasket that is used in a number of small gasoline engines for a variety of lawn, landscaping, and outdoor power tools including log splitters, chippers, leaf blowers, power vacuums, tillers, and snow blowers. The valve cover gasket provides a seal between the engine's cylinder head and the camshaft to prevent oil leaks. The gasket also seals the spark plug port. This seal prevents the engine oil from entering the combustion chamber. Over time, these gaskets are subjected to heat extremes and the constant vibration of the small engine that runs at about 3,600 revolutions per minute. It is not uncommon for a valve cover gasket to begin to leak after several years of service. The first sign of this is usually white smoke emitted from the engine's exhaust, which is a sign of oil burning in the fuel mix. Eventually, the engine will lose power, as well. When replacing this part, make sure to use a gasket such as this one, which is a genuine OEM replacement part, manufactured to be identical to the specifications of the original gasket. This gasket is compatible with small engines made by Bolens, Huskee, MTD, Troy-Bilt, Yard Man, and Cub Cadet.
