Description

This carburetor kit is used to rebuild a worn carburetor in Briggs and Stratton small gasoline-powered engines. The carburetor sits atop the cylinder where the combustion that powers the engine takes place. Gasoline and air are mixed in the carburetor and fed into the cylinder where compression causes a spark plug to fire and the fuel mixture is burns explosively to create power. Sometimes, particularly if a small engine is used extensively, the carburetor may fail. To test the carburetor, make sure the engine is full of clean, new gasoline. Remove the air filter to expose the carburetor and pour a small amount of gas directly into the carburetor. If the engine starts and quickly dies, the carburetor probably needs to be rebuilt. It's a good idea while rebuilding the carburetor to replace the air filter as well. Many times a partially clogged air filter turns out to be a significant part of the reason a carburetor failed. This kit is an OEM guaranteed replacement part designed to perfectly replicate the original. The kit contains two gaskets, for where the carburetor attaches to the cylinder and the manifold, a governor spring, a diaphragm, and the plastic carburetor body. This kit is sold individually and the air filter will need to be purchased separately. It may be used on Briggs & Stratton and Cub Cadet mowers, pressure washers, edgers, and other lawn equipment using small engines.
