Description

While gas is a primary source of fuel in a gas-powered engine, the oxygen that is blended with the fuel through the carburetor is also important. That air has to be free of dirt, debris, and other contaminants or it runs the risk of clogging up the engine. An air filter is the part commonly responsible for keeping unwelcome material out of the engine by trapping it as it is pulled in through the air intake.
