This genuine OEM replacement part is a rocker cover gasket for a wide variety of Briggs & Stratton engines. A rocker cover gasket seals oil into the camshaft. The camshaft (or rocker) is the part of an engine that translates the up and down piston movements into rotational movements to turn the crankshaft. While the engine is running, there is a flurry of motion that requires a lot of oil in the camshaft. The rocker cover helps keep all this oil inside the proper places, but it needs a gasket to help seal everything in place. Engines produce a lot of heat and after prolonged use, a gasket will warp or break. When this happens, oil will begin leaking from the engine.
