Description

The starter rope is a generic part that is used on all pull-start lawn and garden engines. The rope attaches to the starter grip handle or starter knob, which is usually made of plastic, as well as the starter housing on the engine. When the starter handle is pulled, the rope causes the starter spring and the pulley to react, engaging the flywheel and allowing the engine to start properly. Over time, the rope can become frayed, worn, or damaged. The starter assembly may also seize up or stretch the rope.
