Since I have already made this same repair twice (once on my own appliance and once on a neighbor's), I'm getting pretty adept at it! Here are the steps:
1. Remove microwave oven door.
2. Using a putty knife, gently pry out the black plastic outer bezel.
3. Remove two visible screws near the latches that secure the inner prongy metal frame.

I believe the problem was caused by a power surge when our electricity returned from an outage.
FirstI removed the two screws on top and removed the vent.
This exposes the one screw that holds the control panel in place.
First I checked the fuse to see if blown but it was ok.
Two screws hold the plastic. bracket in place that holds the 3 door switches.
Uncouple the wires attached to the switches and pull the bracket out.

Pretty easy repair. Removed two top screws, then used a credit card and flathead screw driver to slide out the old plastic tabs that had broken off the old part. Then, put in new charcoal filter and new part. Attach both top screws and do not over tighten.... done!

So, you would think that Bosch would make the door handle a TAD more accessible for a quick replacement and repair. You have to first remove the plastic lining on the back of the door, then the black metal surround that holds the inner glass to be able to get to the two screws that hold the door handle supports. It takes some patience as most of these two peices and "snap" in and you just have to carefully see how the two components are held in to remove them without breaking them.
