Freezer would not go below 32°f. James L. • Port Saint Lucie , FL • February 23, 2018
Had a friend who is an appliance repair tech. Replace the evaporator, the heater coil, and the filter/drier. Parts were soldered together and the compressor was put under vacuum. Then, charged with 5 oz. of refrigerant. The freezer works great now!

This bushing protects the appliance service cord where it passes through the cabinet, reducing wear and preventing chafing that can expose wiring. It's a simple replacement that restores a safe cord entry point. What it does:
- Cushions and centers the service cord at the cabinet opening to prevent abrasion
- Helps keep the cord from rubbing on sharp metal edges that can cause insulation damage
- Reduces risk of shorting, sparking, or intermittent power caused by a worn cord
- Commonly replaced when the existing bushing is cracked, missing, or deformed
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect power (unplug or switch off breaker) before servicing
- Inspect the cord and surrounding insulation; replace the cord if damage is found
- Push the bushing into the cabinet opening, then route the cord through the bushing until seated
- Reuse only if undamaged; do not force a damaged bushing into place

This is a compressor used in several types of home appliances. The compressor is designed to take cold gas in the appliance and place it under pressure so the gas raises in temperature. It is then moved through the refrigerator system to ensure the unit stays cold throughout the appliance. This part can become damaged or malfunction, which may cause the motor to stop running, make the motor noisier, or cause the motor to never stop running. If this happens, the compressor will need to be replaced. A basic set of tools will be needed. A pair of work gloves can also be useful. First, locate the compressor as it may be in various locations depending on the appliance model. Unplug the appliance before removing the compressor. Install the new compressor using the original bolts and nuts before turning the power back on and resuming normal use. This part is sold on an individual basis. The compressor is made to be used with refrigerators, ranges, stoves, ovens, air conditioners, and freezers created by Gibson, Frigidaire, Kelvinator, Montgomery Wards, Westinghouse, Tappan, JCPenney, Universal, and Kenmore. It is an authentic OEM replacement part directly sourced from the manufacturer.
