Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Lg french door referigerator/ freezer error code er dh   Matthew W. • Columbus , NJ • November 20, 2014

Replaced defrost sensor in freezer compartment, if you are handy this is a do it yourself job. The cover in the freezer section just pops out not tools needed. You will need a few small zip ties and some cutters to remove the old zip ties. Take a picture were the old sensor was before removing and reinstall in the same place. I used a meter to check continuity of the defrost element and found the element to be ok. I was quoted $85 to have someone come to the house just to check the unit and... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Our water dispenser stopped working and the ice maker stopped working also   Neil R. • Saint Louis , MO • March 11, 2016

Once I was convinced that the water supply and filter wasn't the problem, I took the back protective panel and looked at the valve assembly. It looked corroded, especially on top where the ?pistons for the solenoids?would project into. I ordered the part and it was on my doorstep in TWO days...really fast. The part was slightly different from the one that I was replacing in that the part was "angled out." This was not a problem. All that did was tilt the fitting for the copper water line... Read more

Compressor Overload Protector
Genuine Lg part
By: Lg
Part Number: 6750C-0004R

The Compressor Overload Protector is an OEM replacement part for LG refrigerators. It plays an important safety role in protecting the compressor from damage due to excessive heat. Located near the compressor unit, the overload protector functions to shut off power to the compressor if temperatures become too high during operation.

Causes can include normal wear over time rendering it less responsive to temperature changes. Mineral or refrigerant deposits may also impede its ability to detect overheating conditions accurately.

Symptoms of a faulty overload protector include:

  • Refrigerator fails to properly cool or the compressor does not run
  • Circuit board or electrical component failure or burnout
  • Lack of cold air production and higher than normal freezer/fridge temperatures

This OEM LG part is also compatible with some Sears/Kenmore models.

8 y/o LG unit was not cooling or freezing. There was a clicking on the back side every 2-3 minutes. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Lg refridgerator error code f1   Bill L. • Cape Coral , FL • June 30, 2015

Error code F1 is related to the ice maker not working on LG refrigerators. After unsuccessfully trying to get a repair person to come fix it, I looked on the web, found that this was a common problem and found the repair part needed from Appliance Parts Pro. I ordered the part on Saturday morning and was surprised when it arrived Sunday morning (6.95 FedEx). It took about 20 minutes to replace this part - basically undo 3 screws and unplug the old part. The ice maker is working like a... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The refrigerator/freezer stopped cooling and the beeping alarm that indicates a door is not closed all the way was beeping   Carla P. • Keller , TX • July 14, 2015

The alarm beeped for two days before I figured out that the light switch in the freezer was the problem. The light bulb- I thought - had burned out a long time ago, but it was actually frozen to where the light just would not come on. Apparently the freezer door had been left open long enough to thaw out the switch and now the light was working. Problem was that now it wasn't turning off even when the door closed. This was telling the unit that the door was open, hence the continuous... Read more
